Condensation inside windows. Why is it there and what does it mean exactly?
Condensation is moisture that is created inside a property from showers, exhalation, washing of clothes and drying of clothes. All properties have moisture contained within. This moisture does not come from the outside. How a property deals with condensation varies on the different types of properties. Older properties are more prone to it and condensation can be made visible on cold surfaces such as glass or where air has become stagnant like behind wardrobes for example. This is not to say that condensation does not form on other materials. It does, you can find condensation on the back of curtains, on walls, corners of ceilings for example though it is less obvious in these locations compared to being on the surface of glass. However it is forming there and home owners can discover the growth of mildew as a result of this moisture. On the next blog we will explain why some properties are more prone to condensation than others and finally we will move on to the conclusion of how to remedy, reduce or eliminate condensation and mildew within properties.
