Reasons why we always recommend lever/lever handles

We always recommend lever/lever handles to our customers above any other system. There are numerous reasons and advantages as to why we do this.  Please read below if you are considering which system to chose.

They work on a manual system operated by your hand which means the handle operates the gear box internally using the energy in your hand to do so. This system means it is more reliable compared to its counter parts which have semi automatic slam locks.

They are more user friendly for elderly people and children. Due to their height, children can open the door at a lower level and elderly people find them easier to open as they offer more leverage for the lock compared to the alternatives such as the heritage slam lock which is operated by a key. These locks are located high up at about 1.5 metres off the floor level and can be difficult for people who have arthritis in their hands or for children to open.

Lever/ lever handles and its associated locks make it easier for the door to be adjusted and seal tighter to the frame. This adjustment can be loosened or tightened depending on the clients preference.

Lever/lever handles make it that the door is more draught proof as a result

Lever/lever handles and its associated locks make it that a composite door is less prone to twisting and will hold true to its plumb level compared to its counter parts like the slam lock. In brief  they are more durable, more user friendly and are highly recommended if doors are facing exposed heat and sun such as inside porches. Due to its simple mechanism it has a lower probability of giving trouble.
